Michael Baude

Michael Baude
My name is Michael Baude, and I am an undergraduate at San Diego State University. I have my A.S. in Chemistry Studies, and I am working towards a B.S. in Chemical Physics. For the last nine months, I have been doing research in high-resolution infrared spectroscopy. Specifically, we have been looking for a free radical which is of interest in Astro-chemistry and may play an important role in combustion. I anticipate that this competition will expand my knowledge of spectroscopy, and allow me to apply my existing knowledge to studying an entirely different species, namely, the sun. Eventually, (in graduate school) I would like to apply the knowledge from both this project and my research to quantum control and/or quantum optics, or possibly studying molecular dynamics.
